For years, a middleman waited on Amazon and Walmart payouts so its vendors did not have to. For former Cymax vendors, that wait is now theirs, and it lands in the middle of the holiday restock.

Cymax Group Technologies, the Burnaby company behind the Channel Gate marketplace service and the Freight Club freight platform, is shutting down after more than 20 years. CEO and majority owner Markus Frind told The Globe and Mail he chose to close rather than fund further losses. About 135 people have lost their jobs, and the company is preparing to file for receivership. It is a hard week for everyone involved.

Hundreds of furniture and home-goods vendors now need to sell on Amazon and other marketplaces directly, under their own seller accounts, many for the first time. Our e-commerce consulting affiliate Kascadian has published a Cymax vendor checklist covering the operational steps. This post covers the money: how Amazon receivables financing and inventory financing can bridge the payout gap while you restock.

The gap: how DD+7 delays your cash

Since March 12, 2026, Amazon has released funds to sellers seven calendar days after confirmed delivery, a reserve it calls Delivery Date + 7 (DD+7). Funds are then paid out on your disbursement cycle. Amazon's notice illustrates it this way: an item sold January 1 and delivered January 3 becomes available for disbursement on January 11.

For furniture, the clock starts late. Big-and-bulky delivery windows are long, so cash for an order can arrive several weeks after the item ships, right when you need it to reorder stock for the holidays.

Illustration only, round numbers

  • Day 0: a sofa sells and ships.
  • Day 12: it is delivered (long big-and-bulky window).
  • Day 19: the DD+7 reserve releases the funds.
  • Day 19 onward: the money pays out on your next disbursement.
  • Meanwhile, your supplier wants payment for the next container now.

Many vendors face a second gap as well: money Cymax owed them for goods already sold. Through a receivership, that may arrive slowly or only in part, so it is safer not to count on it when planning your restock.

Option 1: Amazon receivables financing

Amazon receivables financing, sometimes called Amazon seller factoring, advances you cash against marketplace payouts you have already earned but that are still working through the reserve and disbursement cycle. When the payout is released, it repays the advance, less the financier's fee.

When it fits: the sales have happened and the money exists, but it is stuck in the payout cycle. Financiers in this space look mainly at your sales history and the payouts due, because the marketplace is the party paying.

It works on the same principle as accounts receivable factoring for business-to-business invoices, though terms for marketplace receivables differ from invoice factoring and depend on the financier and your account history.

Option 2: inventory financing informed by your seller account

If the problem is the next order rather than the last one, inventory financing funds the restock before the sales come in. CBLE's payments partner Loop Financial connects directly to Amazon seller accounts to inform inventory finance decisions.

When it fits: you need cash for a purchase order ahead of the holiday season and want your actual marketplace sales data to support the request, rather than relying only on financial statements prepared for a business that used to sell through a middleman.

Many vendors will use both: receivables financing to unlock payouts already earned, and inventory financing for the next order. Canada Business Loan Experts is a broker, not a lender. We work with 30+ lenders and finance companies in Canada and the US and match you to the structure that fits.

What to have ready

  • Seller account access for Amazon and any other marketplaces you now sell on directly.
  • Recent sales history, including what you sold through Channel Gate before the transition.
  • A list of open receivables, including anything Cymax owes you, with invoice numbers and amounts.
  • The restock order you need to fund: supplier, amount, and payment and delivery dates.
  • Basic business documents: incorporation details, recent business bank statements, and financial statements if you have them.

Amazon receivables financing FAQ

What is Amazon receivables financing?

Amazon receivables financing advances cash to a seller against marketplace payouts that have been earned but not yet released. When Amazon disburses the funds, they repay the advance, less the financier's fee. It suits sellers whose sales are strong but whose cash is tied up in the payout cycle.

What is Amazon's DD+7 policy?

Since March 12, 2026, Amazon has released funds to sellers seven calendar days after confirmed delivery, a reserve called Delivery Date + 7. The funds are then paid out on the seller's disbursement cycle. For products with long delivery windows, such as furniture, that can mean several weeks between shipping and receiving cash.

I was a Cymax or Channel Gate vendor. What should I do about cash flow?

Plan for receiving marketplace payouts yourself, on Amazon's DD+7 timing, and do not count on quick payment of any amounts Cymax owes you. Receivables financing can unlock payouts already earned, and inventory financing can fund your next restock. Kascadian's Cymax vendor checklist covers the operational steps of selling directly.

Is Amazon receivables financing a loan?

It depends on the structure. Some providers purchase or advance against specific payouts, which works like factoring, while others offer a loan or line of credit sized to your sales. The cost, repayment and security vary by financier, so compare the total cost before you sign.

Does CBLE lend the money directly?

No. Canada Business Loan Experts is a commercial finance broker. We work with 30+ lenders and finance companies in Canada and the US, match your business to suitable options, and help you prepare the application. The lender makes the credit decision.
